Vegan Chocolate Mousse
I am eating this as I write, and I have to say, I am having a hard time taking a break to type. I just want to keep eating it.
Now this recipe is not new to me, and not new to this blog actually. I have been making it for about a year now, and was first introduced to it by my friend, ecopreneur, amazing mother and chef extraordinaire Joslyn who shared a version of this recipe on her blog. Have you checked out her blog yet? It is choc-full of the best eco-friendly advice for women, children, home owners and more…
Since first making a batch of her Chocolate Mousse recipe I have been hooked. Last year I shared a recipe for it within a post for a cake that I made, but I have rekindled my love for this recipe again this year, and I wanted to give it its own page on the blog… So, here it is. Easy peasy and delicious.
You will be filling your cupboards with cans of coconut milk once you try it! Believe me…

Vegan Chocolate Mousse
2 cans of coconut milk
(14 oz. – full fat)
1/2 c agave
2 t agar agar powder
1/2 c raw cacao powder
1 t vanilla extract
1 t cardamom
pinch of sea salt
1/4 c arrowroot powder
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk together until all are combined.
Pour the contents into a medium sauce pan and slowly bring to a boil while stirring. Once the milk begins to bubble reduce to a simmer and continue to stir for 8 minutes. The mixture should thicken.
Let the mousse cool enough to pour into the cups that you choose and then cool in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Enjoy!
