Making New Friends
The weekend has arrived, I am sitting on my porch reflecting on the beautiful week that just passed here in Santa Fe. Spring is arriving, and blossoms are peeking out of every corner. Daffodils, apricot buds, and possibly even cherries. (I still have to learn how to identify all of the flowers…) Soon enough there will be fruit! I thought it would be fun to share a little bit of my week with you.
StoryPortrait Media – photo shoot
I think the highlight of the week was my photo shoot with Genevieve Russell from StoryPortrait Media. We spent two hours together on Wednesday morning exploring downtown Santa Fe, and she took some awesome photos! Genevieve is really talented and made the shoot fun and relaxing. The final edits are still in the works but here is a peek at what she captured:
Honest Cooking
This week another recipe of mine was featured on Honest Cooking, the new online Cooking Magazine. I am really excited about this new website, and most specifically I am enjoying the new friends and peers that I am discovering through it. Honest Cooking features over 50 international writers, and so far two of them have definitely caught my eye.
Juls Kitchen – A Tuscan girl savoring the world one bite at a time
My only regret is that I didn’t know about her when I actually lived in Florence, Italy, but I am enjoying learning more about her through her blog, and am enthralled with her recipes. Especially her Gluten Free Cupcakes with Strawberry Buttercream. (I also love her pin boards on Pinterest)
Scandie Foodie – feel good food
Maria Laitinen is from Finland but now lives in Australia, which is the first thing that makes her cool. The icing on the cake though is that she pops out beautiful gluten-free creations left and right. I am amazed at what she is cooking up, and wish that she wasn’t so far away. Check out her Quince, Pear and Apple Cake.
Massage, Massage, Massage
This has also been week #2 of job interviews for me. “Season” is starting here in Santa Fe and the spas are hiring, so I am in the process of interviewing for a Massage Therapist position. Interviews are totally different in the massage world because in most cases before you even really talk to the person in charge of hiring, you give them a massage. It was a surprise at first, but I have to say that I am enjoying it. I like my work and feel like the right job will come along…in the meantime I am meeting some cool people and seeing the inside of some beautiful spas.
What was your week like? Any new discoveries, creations, friends?
