A Hanna Somatics Series

Our hands are in constant motion—typing, holding, lifting, creating, and interacting with the world around us. Over time, this continual use can lead to tension, stiffness, or pain that affects not only our hands, but the connections into our arms, shoulders, and even torso.
In this Hanna Somatics class series, you will learn techniques to ease pain, reduce tension, and improve mobility from your hands to your heart. Through gentle movements, you will explore ways to release restrictions in your upper extremities and torso and enhance your coordination and dexterity. This series will offer you tools that you can bring into your personal practice to continue supporting your career, passions, and daily activities.
Drop-ins are welcome for students who cannot make the whole series. Classes are verbally guided and will be taught in reclined positions on the floor. Recorded replay with one week unlimited access will be sent to all students.

The Low Back Nexus
A Hanna Somatics Series

Your low back is in relationship with your abdomen, shoulders, rib cage, pelvis, hips, legs, and so much more! When pain and tension show up in your low back, the solution may involve more than just addressing the muscles along your spine.
In this 3-week Hanna Somatics series, you will experience ways to ease the muscles, fascia, and ligaments that influence low back comfort. Each week offers a different focus, giving you the opportunity to discover and begin to release your low back pain and movement limitations. The movements are simple, accessible, and can be integrated into your personal practice so you can continue supporting your low back long after the series ends.

Deep Rest
A Hanna Somatics Series

Tension in our bodies often occurs unconsciously and can arise from mental, emotional, and physical stressors in our lives. While not all tension causes pain, all tension does use energy and can eventually lead to fatigue and burnout.
Over this 4-week series you will be invited to slow down, move within your comfort, and be in relationship with yourself. By working with your nervous system through gentle movements and mindfulness practices you will begin to introduce new patterns of ease in your soma, deepen your experience of rest, and learn tools to take with you into your personal practice.
To get the full benefit of this series, students are asked to sign up for all 4 classes. Drop-in attendance will not be available for this series. If you have any questions about attending please feel free to contact me.

Christine periodically offers Hanna Somatic Education workshops. She offers both introductory workshops for students who are new to Somatics as well as themed workshops for students looking to deepen their understanding of Somatics.
