One-on-One Somatics Sessions
Hanna Somatics sessions are the quickest option to relieving the pain, tension or discomfort you may be experiencing. If you are looking for guidance on how to feel better in your body, consider booking a one-on-one Somatics session with Christine.
Christine will begin with a verbal intake to discover what would benefit you during the session and she will also conduct a visual analysis of you standing to learn about further patterns present in your alignment. Based on what she discovers, Christine will develop a Hanna Somatics session to support and bring relief to your soma. She will also end the session by giving you 1 - 2 exercises that you can incorporate into your self-care practice so that you are able to continue your healing after the session.
FIRST SESSION - $129
This 90-minute session includes extra time for our initial intake. We will talk in detail about what brings you to Somatics, what your needs are from our session together, and how Hanna Somatic Education works.
FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS - $119
Follow-up sessions are recommended for all clients and are 75 minutes. While it is possible that issues can be resolved after one session, Somatics is an educational process and it is likely that it will take a few sessions to retrain the patterns causing you pain, discomfort or limitations.
FIRST TIME 5-PACK $509
This package is available for new Somatics clients who would like to commit to a series of sessions. This package is valid for up to 5 months from the purchase date. This includes your first 90 minute session as well as 4 follow-up sessions to support your continued progress with Somatics. These sessions are non-transferable.
What To Expect In A Private Somatics Session
Online & In-Person Sessions
Whether you live in Santa Fe or anywhere in the world, you can work with Christine. Online sessions are offered through Zoom and are best if you have a good internet connection and a computer/device with a camera so that Christine can see you during the session. In-person sessions are held in her office and incorporate verbal guidance as well as some gentle hands-on Somatic work.
Sessions Are Verbally Guided
Christine will give you verbal instructions to find the movements in your body. As you move, she will be able to see whether you need any further instructions to find the movement in your body and you are welcome to ask questions at any time.
Movements Are Gentle
Hanna Somatics is designed to be accessible for all levels. If you experience any discomfort you can choose less range through the movement, and there is even the option of visualizing your body doing the movement which will still create positive change in your muscle system.
Movements Are Slow
In Hanna Somatics you are working with your brain-muscle connections; you will re-educate your brain to release muscle tension. The slower you go, the more benefit you will experience.
Movements Are Done With Awareness
Because you are working directly with your brain’s sensory-motor cortex, awareness is the key to making sure this area of your gets involved in the learning process. The more present you are with sensations in your body, the more benefit you can bring to your body.
Sessions Can Be Adapted To Your Comfort
Hanna Somatics can be done lying down, seated and even standing. Most often sessions are guided with you lying down and will combine movements on your back, stomach and also lying on your sides. If any of these positions are not comfortable for you, please let Christine know and she can modify the session for your comfort. It is helpful to have pillows available for some supported movements as well.
Benefits Are Cumulative
The more you practice Hanna Somatic movements, the more change you will notice. You can continue one-on-one sessions or attend group classes with Christine on a regular basis and you are also encouraged to integrate the movements into your daily practice.
